TL;DR
By the end of this walkthrough you will have one shipping option live in your checkout. It takes around five minutes. You can add more options, change prices, and set up rules any time after.
What this means in real life
Right now, your checkout might show nothing useful, or whatever your platform defaulted to. After this walkthrough, at least one real shipping option — with a name and price you chose — will appear when a customer reaches your checkout.
Step 1: Open Delivery Checkout
- Log in to Shipit.
- In the left-hand navigation, click Delivery Checkout.
Step 2: Create a checkout setup
A checkout setup is the connection between Shipit and your store. You need one before you can add any shipping options.
- Click New checkout setup.
- Enter a Name for this setup. This is for your reference only — your customers never see it. Example: "My Shopify Store" or "EU Store".
- Under Checkout platform, select the platform your store uses: Shopify, Qliro, Walley, or Kustom.
- Leave all other fields at their defaults for now. You can adjust them later.
- Click Save.
You are now inside your new checkout setup.
If you use Shopify, Shipit will ask for a Checkout ID. You can find this in your Shopify admin under Settings > Checkout. Copy it and paste it into the field.
Step 3: Go to Shipping Options
- Inside your checkout setup, click the Shipping Options tab.
- Click Add shipping option.
Step 4: Pick a template
A template is a pre-built starting point. It fills in the carrier details, a default name, and a few sensible defaults so you do not have to start from scratch.
If you are not sure which template to pick, choose Home Delivery. It is the simplest and works for most stores as a starting point.
- Browse the template list. Templates are grouped by region (General, Finland, Sweden, and so on).
- Click Home Delivery (under General).
- Click Use this template.
Step 5: Review the pre-filled fields
The template fills in several fields automatically. You do not need to change most of them right now. Focus on two things:
Name — This is what your customers see at checkout. The template sets it to "Home Delivery". You can leave it as-is or change it to something like "Standard Delivery" or "Delivered to your door".
Base price — This is the price your customers pay. The template may set it to zero or to a placeholder amount. Change this to the price you actually want to charge. Even €0.00 is fine if you want to offer free delivery while you test.
The carrier field controls which shipping provider delivers the order. The template sets this automatically. Do not change it unless you know you need a different carrier — if you save without a valid carrier selected, Shipit will show you a validation error and ask you to pick one.
Step 6: Set your price
- Find the Base price field.
- Clear the current value and type the price you want to charge. For example:
4.99. - Make sure the Currency field next to it matches your store currency.
Step 7: Save
- Scroll to the bottom of the page (or top — there is a Save button in both places).
- Click Save.
You will see a confirmation message. Your shipping option is now saved.
Step 8: Verify it worked
In Shipit: Go back to the Shipping Options tab. You should see your new option listed there, with the name and price you entered.
In your checkout: Place a test order on your store (add any item to your cart and proceed to checkout). Your shipping option should appear in the delivery section. If it does not appear within a minute or two, check that your checkout setup is connected to the correct store and that the option is marked as Enabled.
If you are using Shopify and the option does not appear, make sure you have connected your Shopify store to Shipit under Settings > Integrations. The connection must be active for Shipit to serve options to your checkout.
