Settings Overview
This guide explains all the settings available in Shipit and what they do. Use these settings to control how your shipping labels are created, when orders are fulfilled, and how automations work.
Sender Settings
Where to find it: Settings > Sender Information
These are your warehouse or store details that appear on shipping labels.
What to fill in:

- Address: Full warehouse/shipping address
- Contact Person: Who carriers should contact for pickup
- Email & Phone: Contact information for shipping issues
- VAT Number / Business ID: Required for customs and international shipping
- EORI Number: Required for EU international shipments
Important notes:
- Is Company: Check this box if shipping as a business (most users should check this)
- Domestic Only: Enable this if you only ship within your own country - this hides international shipping options
Tips
Make sure your sender address is complete and accurate - carriers use this for pickups and it appears on all shipping labels.
Automation Settings
Where to find it: Settings > Automations
Control when shipping labels are created automatically and when Shopify orders are marked as fulfilled.
Shipment Generation
Choose when shipping labels should be created automatically:
- Off: You manually create labels (click "Create Shipment" for each order)
- When order is paid: Labels create automatically as soon as payment is confirmed
- When order is ready: Wait for you to mark order as ready before creating label
Which should I choose?
- Most stores use "When order is paid" for faster processing
- Use "Manual" if you need to check inventory first
- Use "When ready" if you pack first, then print labels
Order Fulfillment
Choose when Shopify orders are marked as "Fulfilled":
- Off: You manually mark orders fulfilled in Shopify
- When label is created: Automatically fulfill as soon as label is generated
- When label is downloaded: Fulfill only after you download the label
Which should I choose?
- Use "When label is created" if you ship everything you create labels for
- Use "When downloaded" if you sometimes cancel shipments
- Use "Off" if you fulfill orders manually at a different time
Order Confirmation Email

- Most stores keep this ON
Order Tagging

- Tag name: What tag to add (default: "Label Downloaded")
- Useful for filtering which orders have been shipped

- Carrier Priority: Group by your preferred carriers
Which should I choose?
- Most customers want Cheapest First
- Use Fastest First if you sell urgent/time-sensitive products

Carrier Priority
If you select "Carrier Priority" sorting, you can choose which carriers to show first.
Example: If you prefer Matkahuolto, put it first - all Matkahuolto options will appear before other carriers.
Advanced Delivery Sorting
If you need more control than "cheapest first" or basic carrier priority, use Advanced delivery sorting.
It lets you:
- define ordered shipping methods
- choose whether those methods are preferred first or kept in exact order
- keep sorting rules for the rest of the checkout and for ordering inside those listed method buckets
